Welcome to the OCA Uniform & Dress Code Page
At OCA, our uniform policy reflects our commitment to unity, modesty, and a Christ-centered learning environment. All students are required to wear the OCA uniform each school day. This page has everything your family needs — what to buy, where to buy it, and what to keep in mind.
If you have any questions, we are always happy to help at info@njoca.org or 201-701-3301.
Tops — must be purchased from Lands’ End
Bottoms — flexible purchase options
Gym Uniform — daily wear for Grades K–5
Elementary students in Grades K–5 wear their OCA gym uniform to school each day. The gym uniform serves as the daily school uniform — there is no separate change for physical education or gym class.
Trademarked & copyrighted characters — not permitted
Students may not bring or wear items featuring copyrighted or trademarked characters or logos. This applies to backpacks, lunchboxes, shoes, and all other visible accessories — not only clothing. This policy promotes unity, minimizes distractions, and supports a Christ-centered environment focused on faith and character.
Where do I buy uniform tops?
All tops must be purchased through Lands’ End using school number 900204991. This ensures the official OCA logo is on every top.
Are there specific brands required for bottoms?
No. Bottoms may be purchased from any store, as long as they are black, navy, or khaki and follow our uniform style guidelines. Jeans and leggings are not permitted.
Do skirts need shorts underneath?
Yes. All skirts must have bike shorts or shorts worn underneath for modesty, and must reach at least the top of the knee.
Are hoodies or non-logo tops allowed in the classroom?
No. Hoodies and any tops that do not display the official OCA logo are not permitted to be worn in the classroom at any time. This applies to all outerwear and casual tops. Only approved uniform tops purchased from Lands’ End may be worn during the school day inside the building.
What is the gym uniform for elementary students?
Students in Grades K–5 wear their OCA gym uniform as their daily school uniform — there is no separate change for PE or gym class. Gym uniforms are available for purchase through the school office.
Can my child wear a backpack or lunchbox with a character on it?
No. Items featuring copyrighted or trademarked characters are not permitted — this includes backpacks, lunchboxes, shoes, and accessories. This applies to all students.
What happens if my child’s uniform does not comply?
Students may be asked to change or sent home. Parents will be contacted for violations, and repeated non-compliance may result in further disciplinary action. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child arrives in compliance each day.
At OCA, our uniform policy is not just about appearance — it is about creating a community where every child can focus on what truly matters: growing in faith, character, and learning. Here is why we value it.
Encourages focus on learning
When students are not thinking about what they or their peers are wearing, they are free to focus on their education, their faith, and their growth as individuals. Uniforms create a calm, distraction-free environment where learning can thrive.
Builds a sense of community and belonging
When every student wears the same uniform, no one stands apart because of what they have or do not have. Uniforms level the playing field and remind us that at OCA, every child is equally valued, equally seen, and equally loved.
Reflects Christian values of modesty and humility
Our uniform policy is an expression of our faith. Modesty, simplicity, and respect for others are core Christian values — and the way we dress is one practical way we live them out. By stepping away from cultural trends that may not reflect these values, we help students develop character that goes far deeper than appearance.
Simplifies mornings and reduces stress
A consistent uniform takes the guesswork out of getting ready each day. Families spend less time deciding what to wear and more time starting the morning with intention — arriving at school calm, prepared, and ready to learn.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
